Create an API Token

To obtain an API Token, perform the following steps:

To obtain an API Token:

1. Log in to Tanium using the obtained credentials.
2. Once logged in, from the list of available services, choose Administration > Permissions > API Tokens .
   • The API Tokens dialog box appears on the right pane.
3. Click New API Token . The Create API Token dialog box appears. Enter the below details to configure the token settings:

Field	Description
Notes	Enter a description for the token.
Expiration	Enter the expiration interval in days. You can also select the required days by clicking Move Up and Move Down arrows.
Persona	Select the Default from the drop down to which the token is bound.
Trusted IP addresses	Enter the valid IP address. Enter multiple IP addresses separated by commas or new lines to separate each address.

1. After entering the above fields, click Create button.
2. Upon successful action, a newly created API token details will be listed in the API Tokens page.
3. Copy the token to your clipboard for the future reference.
4. Click Close button to exit the dialog box.
5. To view the token details, select the required token in the grid and then click View Token .
